The Australian emu series debuted in 1995 and continued production for only three years, ending in 1998. With such a short production span this is one of the most sought after coins on the market, with only 2,500 in circulation around the world.
Cast in 9995 fine palladium the reverse coin portrays a mother emu standing vigilant as she guards her eggs amongst the grasslands.
The Obverse contains Louise Pinder's portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II's right facing profile. Also featured on the coins obverse is its forty dollar value and its country of issue. The coin is preserved in its original casing, and comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Perth mint.
