2013 - 200 Years of The Benevolent Society $1 Uncirculated Coin in card.
Australia's first charity, the Benevolent Society, was founded 200 years ago in May 1813 by banker and newspaper editor Edward Smith Hall.
Since then they have provided help and support to millions of Australians. Significant achievements include pioneering free maternity care, legal aid, campaigning for the abolition of child labour and the introduction of the old age pension.
Today the organisation continues to help people change their lives through support and education, as well as speaking out for a fairer society. This $1 coin, featuring an interpretation fo the Society's original logo, celebrates this commendable milestone.
The coin is presented in a blister and housed in a printed presentation card.
