2013 Year of the Snake $1 PNC
The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to celebrate the Year of the Snake with a stunning Stamp and Coin Cover.
As well as appealing to coin collectors, these superb releases are perfect for people born in the Year of the Snake – 1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 1989, 2001 and 2013. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be intelligent, graceful, independent, analytical and charming.
Issued as legeal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs. This beautiful Stamp and Coin cover will make a superb gift or collectable.
The coin’s reverse depicts a snake wrapped around a tree branch, the chinese character for ‘snake’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Snake’. The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ Mintmark.
The stamps depict a stylised snake image and the Chinese character for snake. Affixed to the envelope are two official Australia Post 60c and $1.80 stamps.
The stamps are postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.
