2015 50c ANZAC Australia - New Zealand Joint Issue Coin & Stamp Cover PNC
A century has passed since the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) was formed Egypt, prior to deployment to Gallipoli. The Australian and new Zealand troops landed to the north of British and French troops are what became known as Anzac Cover, the men themselves consequently became known as the Anzacs. An ANZAC Mounted Division was also formed in 1916, serving in Sinai and Palestine.
This joint stamp issue commemorates the shared history and abiding friendship between the two countries. This postal and numismatic cover is the first that Australia Post has produced featuring a New Zealand coin.
The Australian 70c Stamp is postmarked First Day of Issue 7th April 2015, Canberra ACT 2600 and the $2 New Zealand Stamp postmarked 7th April 2015, Wellington New Zealand.
