Celebrating the Year of the Rooster this exceptional release features the Lunar rooster in authentic Australian opal.

The coin is struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin’s reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a rooster detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts a collection of stylised leaves. The design includes the inscription YEAR OF THE ROOSTER, the 2017 year-date, and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
