2023 Disney 100th Anniversary - Mickey Mouse Stamp and Coin Cover

The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to present this stamp and coin cover celebrating 100 Years of Disney featuring Mickey Mouse. For decades, Mickey Mouse has been the most recognised and popular of the world’s cartoon characters.

The loveable and indomitable Mickey made his debut in the 1928 short Steamboat Willie. Always the underdog, Mickey overcomes larger-than-life adversity through quick wit and a can-do spirit, despite being small and vulnerable. As its most famous character Mickey serves as the mascot of The Walt Disney character.

minium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.

DESIGN

The coin portrays a coloured image of Mickey Mouse amid representations of celestial bodies. As well as the official ‘DISNEY 100’ logo, the design includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented by the dates of her reign ‘1952-2022’, the 2023 year-date and the monetary denomination.
