2007 Year of the Pig $1 PNC
2007 50c Lunar Year of the Pig Coin & Stamp Cover PNC
Stamps from Australia Post's popular Christmas Island Lunar New Year collection and a 30mm coin from The Perth Mint's renowned Australian Lunar series come together in this exclusive 2007 Year of the Pig Stamp and Coin Cover.
The Australian Lunar Series coin, struck by The Perth Mint from aluminium bronze, depicts a pig, the Chinese character for 'pig' and the 2007 year-date.
These shiny design elements appear on a frosted background portraying a Chinese setting.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the 50c coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin is mounted on a brightly illustrated card featuring Chinese-style illustrations.
The card and coin are presented in a first day cover envelope featuring a circular window to reveal the coin.
The envelope displays $1.45 and 50c Christmas Island Lunar New Year stamps issued by Australian Post.
Depicting pigs and the words CHRISTMAS ISLAND and AUSTRALIA, both stamps are postmarked 8 January 2007.
