2014 ANZAC Day 'Lest We Forget' $1 Carded Coin

Preserving the knowledge of wartime sacrifices made by members of our defence force is important to generations of Australians, as numbers attending ANZAC Day ceremonies testifies. This year’s ANZAC tribute coin honours the men and women of the Royal Australian Navy Submarine Service.

The design on this uncirculated $1 coin portrays an image of the AE2, an E-class submarine commissioned by the Royal Australian Navy in 1914, and a group of submariners. The background depicts a silhouetted bugler, the inscription ‘Lest We Forget’, and the date of ANZAC Day, ‘April 25’. 

This coin is struck by The Perth Mint from aluminium bronze.
