2017 Australian 20c Twenty Cent Victory Medal Coin Roll
The Australian Defence Medal is awarded to current and former Australian Defence Force personnel who have completed an initial enlistment period of up to four years’ service. Instituted in 2006, it recognises regular and reserve personnel who have served in
Australian military forces since September 1945. Its red ribbon is the colour of the Flanders poppy which represents the sacrifice of our ANZAC personnel.
The Australian Defence Medal recognises the contribution of all Australians who have proudly served their country since 1945, whether overseas or in Australia. With over 300,000 medals awarded so far, it symbolises the sacrifice of all brave servicemen and women.
The medal has been designed to include a stylised version of the formal symbol of the Commonwealth of Australia – the Commonwealth Coat of Arms. It sits above a sprig of wattle, Australia’s floral emblem.
The reverse of the medal is surrounded by a wattle wreath which acknowledges the sacrifice of those who have died in service. The ribbon is divided by white vertical lines to represent the three Services (Navy, Army and Air Force).
As a nation, we thank all the men and women who serve and protect our country to ensure we maintain our way of life.
All coins are guaranteed to be uncirculated and have been professionally rolled by Cotton and Co.
