2020 Australian Opal Lunar Mouse 1oz Silver $1 Proof Coin

A wonderful tribute to the enterprising lunar mouse, the first animal in the Chinese zodiac, this 1oz silver coin features a spectacular centrepiece of a mouse motif crafted from Australian opal.

The coin’s reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a mouse created in pure Australian opal. The coin’s outer ring features intricate patterning with depictions of stylised lily of the valley flowers and other foliage. The design includes the inscription ‘YEAR OF THE MOUSE’ and the Chinese character for ‘mouse’ together with the 2020-year date, the weight and purity, and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

The coin is housed in a black display case with a clear lid. Packaged within a beautifully illustrated red and gold shipper, each coin in the limited mintage of 5,000 is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
