2024 Australian Emu 1oz Silver Coloured Coin
The Perth Mint is pleased to release this beautiful 1oz silver coin featuring the latest Australian emu design in colour. Standing up to 1.9 metres tall, the flightless emu is Australia’s largest bird. Males are known to defend their young, driving predators away by kicking their long, powerful legs, which are also used to propel these birds across the continent’s dry plains at remarkable speeds up to 50km an hour.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of the Australian Emu 2024 1oz Silver Coloured Coin.
DESIGN
The coin’s coloured reverse portrays an adult emu and three chicks in an arid outback setting. The inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN EMU’ and a ‘P125’ mintmark appear within the design. The coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.
PRESENTATION
The Australian Emu 2024 1oz Silver Coloured Coin is presented in a classic display case with a clear acrylic lid within a themed shipper and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
