Dragons are mythical reptilian creatures of fearsome appearance that feature in many ancient cultures. The existence of dragons remains a popular notion and they are strongly represented in contemporary fantasy. In both Eastern and Western traditions, dragons are often portrayed as guardians of gold and other treasures.
Striking design
This reverse portrays a meticulously detailed depiction of an oriental dragon, snarling with open claws and intricately scaled wings. The design also incorporates the inscription ‘2025’, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark
The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and monetary denomination.
The coin incorporates an authentication feature on the reverse. In the form of a micro-laser engraved letter, it is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
Memorial Obverse
The coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign. Also included are the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2025 year-date.
