Aussie Big Things $1 Giant Ram Coin

Discover 10 of Australia’s favourite ‘Big Things’ with this new coin collection, struck by the Royal Australian Mint.

You’ll find The Giant Ram in Wagin, WA, which is prime sheep country, located about 230km south-east of Perth. A whopping 13m long, 9m high and weighing at least four tonnes, you can only imagine the chops on this guy!

His fibreglass outer is supported by a sturdy steel frame. He’s coloured white and has an impressive set of curled horns. It’s no wonder The Giant Ram, appropriately named Bart, is one of the most photographed icons in the state.

Aussie Big Things is a celebration of the great Australian road trip. And with more than 200 of these massive landmarks scattered across the country, tourists and locals are propelled to ‘tick off’ the Big Things as they drive throughout Australia.
