2023 Chinese Myths and Legends Dragon and Koi 1oz Silver Antiqued Coin in Card
Auspicious animals
In Chinese mythology, the dragon is a divine creature symbolising power, strength, wealth, and good fortune. Throughout East Asia and beyond, koi are synonymous with harmony and happiness, and are also said to be lucky omens for marriage and fertility.
Symbolic design
The coin portrays representations of a Chinese dragon and koi pursuing wisdom in the shape of a flaming pearl. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the artistry also includes a ‘moon bridge’ – it’s high arch and reflection on water creating the shape of the lunar body often associated with purity or perfection.
Memorial Obverse
The coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign, and the monetary denomination, and 2023 year-date.
Presentation card
The coin comes in a superbly illustrated stand-up presentation card featuring a certificate of authenticity and a fold-out stand for upright display.
